From the UK there are currently no direct flight services to Tanzania.
Indirect flights from the UK to Tanzania
Several international airlines also operate services to Dar es Salaam with a change of planes en route. Kenya Airways offer a daily service to Dar es Salaam, Zanzibar and Kilimanjaro via Nairobi. KLM also operate to Kilimanjaro International Airport (ideal for northern circuit safaris and Kilimanjaro trekking), as do Ethiopian Airlines.
Kenya Airways flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
Kenya Airways fly via Nairobi daily from London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam. Connections can also be made in Nairobi for flights to Zanzibar or Kilimanjaro airports. Flight time from London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam approximately 11 hours 10 minutes depending on connection times. As a general rule of thumb the cheaper the fare, the longer the connection time in Nairobi.
Emirates flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
Emirates offer flights daily from London Heathrow or Gatwick to Dar es Salaam with connection in Dubai. Flight time is a minimum of 13 and a half hours depending on flight connections. This option often necessitates an overnight stay in Dubai en route, or a lengthy connection time in the early hours of the morning.
Swiss Air flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
Swiss offer flights three times a week from London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam with an efficient connection in Zurich. Flight time approximately 11 hours 55 minutes depending on flight connections. A generally efficient airline with attractive fares when avoiding peak flying dates.
Egyptair flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
Egyptair operate flights on Tuesdays and Saturdays from London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam with a connection in Cairo and overnight flight to Dar es Salaam. Approximately 13 hours based on minimum flight connection time. The return from Dar es Salaam to Cairo is a morning flight.
KLM flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
KLM offer daily flights from London Heathrow to Dar es Salaam with a connection in Amsterdam and possibly Nairobi. Also operates four times a week to Kilimanjaro. Approximately 13 hours 10 minutes depending on flight connections. KLM code-share with Kenya Airways.
Ethiopian Airlines flights from United Kingdom to Tanzania
Ethiopian offers 6 flights a week (except Tue) from London Heathrow to Kilimanjaro, Dar es Salaam, Nairobi, Zanzibar and Mombasa with a connection in Addis Ababa. Operating an all Boeing fleet with some of the most competitive fares on the market they have been operating to/from U.K for over 30 years. Depending on the day of the flight, there may be a touch down at another African airport enroute between Addis Ababa and your destination.
