The documentation and fee required for obtaining Tanzania visas varies according to both your nationality and where you are applying from. It is the sole right of each country to determine who is allowed to enter.
Passport
All passports must be valid for six months and have at least three clear pages free.
Taxes
Tanzania may charge an arrival or departure tax which may or may not be included in the price of an airline ticket, or may need to be paid in cash on arrival or departure. Any required taxes not included in the price of an airline ticket are to be paid locally by the traveller.
Visa Requirements
A Tanzania visa is required for passport holders/citizens/nationals of the following countries: UK, Australia, Canada, Denmark, Ireland, Netherlands, New Zealand, South Africa, United States.

Tanzania Tourist Visa
Applicants who wish to obtain a Tanzania tourist visa before they commence international travel, must meet all the necessary requirements. These include the submission of a completed application form, a valid passport and two passport size photographs, as well as a prepaid and self-addressed envelope for the return of the passport. A Tanzania tourist visa will make travellers eligible to visit Tanzania for no longer than 3 months or 6 months (depending on the application made), with single and multiple entry options available. Additionally, the Tanzania tourist visa does not allow the visa holder to engage in any kind of Tanzanian employment during their stay.
Processing Time
The processing time for a Tanzania visa takes approximately 10 working days, but this is subject to change. A Tanzania visa’s processing time depends very much on the type of visa, the nationality of the person applying, the time of year and other variables. Therefore, it is advised that applicants start the application process well in advance of their scheduled trip. Alternatively, obtain a Tanzania visa upon your arrival at Dar es Salaam or Kilimanjaro International Airports.
